Almost two years ago I joined Shelfari, a website where you can keep track of the books you have read, are currently reading, and want to read. You can also rate your books, write reviews, and when you read the books along with many other things. I'm pretty sure I just signed up for it and forgot about it for some reason or another because when I logged on the other day I had a whopping 3 or 4 books on my shelf (very sad, yes, I know).
So how did I end up back on Shelfari? A couple of weeks ago I signed up for another book tracking website (I sign up for way too many things and then never again go back...I believe I may have a problem there...hehehe) called Goodreads (discovered through a Facebook friend) and found I didn't really enjoy it. I had totally forgot about my Shelfari account until my roommate and I were talking about books and what not and she mentioned Shelfari. The light bulb came on and tonight I have re-acquainted myself with my Shelfari account and so enjoy it. I have many books to add both to the plan to read and have already read piles, but I got a start!! So thanks Holly for reminding me that Shelfari existed!!!
While working with Shelfari I have discovered one little thing I wish it had. I would love for Shelfari to have a recommendation component to recommend books to you based on what you've read or genres or whatever. That would just be an awesome feature!!!
I also have always thought that it would be cool to join a book club. Sometimes I stick to one type of book and don't really broaden my horizons and I would really like to enjoy and experience different books. So I joined an online Book Club here. They suggest one book a month and then you can discuss it if you choose. I am pretty excited for this. One book a month should allow me to read other books on my list (that is until school picks up and gets super crazy)!
And just on a side note completely irrelevant to this topic--BOYS ARE RETARDED!!! I do not believe I will ever understand them and currently they are driving me nuts!
THAT IS ALL :)

Hi there Emily - I dont want it to seem that I am plugging my own site but it does sound like you need some GOOD books to snuggle down with (particularly if boy are getting you down). Books really can be a great escape from reality... and there are many books where you read about REAL men that sweep you off your feet.
So the site is TheReadingRoom.com. You can meet other like-minded readers and join hundreds of book clubs for your taste in books. it also tailors book recommendations to you too.
Let me know how it goes.
Haha. You are welcome!
